I know we can't use our own pets as animal experience, but how do horses and livestock fit into this?

I have two horses who were previously boarded and since 2006 have lived on my farm. At one point, I boarded another person's horse here as well. I assume I can count boarding another person's horse as animal experience, since that mare wasn't mine, but can I also count my own horses? If I can, do I count only the time when they lived on my farm or also the time when they were boarded at another stable? And how do I tabulate my experience hours for this?

I also have several hens on my farm. Does the same logic apply to them?

Also, riding lessons and equestrian competitions count as animal experience, correct?
